Whatever we blame carries our shame. A scapegoat bears the rebuke for the troubles in our lives we cannot own. She peeks out from prison lines of latitude and longitude facing a world she feels she has no say in. She hides her bulk in black, hoping to direct your attention to the image she wishes you to see and she wishes to be. If only she could frame herself as that princess in pink, she would have value. She wrote the poem about herself.
